As a young man, Thein Win Zaw became actively involved in various pro-democracy movements, risking his safety to speak out against injustice. He participated in peaceful protests, organized community initiatives, and used his voice to amplify the voices of the oppressed. However, his activism did not go unnoticed by the authorities. In 2021, amidst a military coup in Myanmar, Thein Win Zaw was arrested and charged with incitement under the draconian laws imposed by the military junta. Despite facing the threat of imprisonment and torture, he refused to be silenced.
